Please keep the following dates in mind as you plan for year end giving in your area!

November close:

In light of the the Thanksgiving holiday, regular mail (pledge cards and checks) and overnight packages need to be received by Monday, December 1st. Items received on or after December 2nd will be accounted for in December business. For questions, contact Financial Services at 877-438-9572.

Year End Giving

In order for contributions to be included for the calendar year end (December 31, 2025), please adhere to the following guidelines:  

• Regular Mail (checks only)
  • Must be postmarked by Wednesday, December 31, 2025, and should be mailed to:

    Boone, IA  50950-0186.
    
  • Regular mail postmarked DECEMBER 2025 will be pulled for processing through Thursday, January 8, 2026, in order for donors to see the gift on their 2025 donor contribution statement.
  • We advise all Young Life areas that receive checks over New Year’s Holiday to gather those final items and mail them overnight or two-day service to ensure delivery in time. 
  • All personal checks postmarked for December 2025 that do NOT make the cutoff to process in December will be processed in January with “gift dated prior year” on their contribution receipt. The donor can reach out to their tax advisor for guidance on these gifts dated 2025 but processed in 2026.
  • Please also encourage your donors to mail last-minute funds directly to Iowa instead of your area or encourage them to give online.
• For local area offices who receive mail to their address (physical or PO Box):
  • Gifts received with post-marks December 31 or sooner should be packaged and overnighted to CDS’s physical address:

  • Include the original envelopes with 2025 post-marks as well as a note stating these gifts were received and post-marked 2025.
  • Ensure these special deliveries are received by CDS by Monday, January 5 by noon CST.
  • Keep a record of tracking numbers.
    
• One -Time Credit Card Donations/Payments (via paper forms)
  • Per IRS regulations, the donor must be charged for electronic gifts by Wednesday, December 31, 2025. All credit card transactions for 2025 processed by CDS must take place on or before December 31, 2025, for them to count as a 2025 donations/transactions. 
  • Credit card items received after December 31, 2025, (CDS’s last business day of 2025) cannot be processed as a 2025 donations/transactions. 
  • In the case of a last-minute credit card gifts, please contact Mission Assistance via phone (877-438-9572) by 5 p.m. EST on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, so we can process this in time.
    
    
• If a donor comes to you with a last-minute gift and you are not able to meet the deadlines mentioned above, please encourage him or her to go online and give a gift. Online gifts can be received through midnight (Eastern Standard Time) on Wednesday, December 31, 2025.
