Effective July 1, 2024 all time-off requests for full-time staff are submitted through Workday.
Please see these resources and Knowledge articles about Time and Absence in Workday.
Paid Time Off Guidelines
Paid Time Off is not accrued and should be submitted through Workday and approved by the Absence Partner which is typically an employee’s supervisor. Supervisors are encouraged to review the staff person’s responsibilities, performance, workload, current projects, timing of the request made by other team members and determine if the request is reasonable. Young Life encourages a minimum of two weeks of PTO each year.
Here is Young Life’s previous vacation policy to serve as a guidelines of how much PTO a staff person could use:
- 1-4 years of service – 10 days (Two 5-day work weeks)
- 5-9 years of service – 15 days (Three 5-day work weeks)
- 10+ years of service – 20 days (Four 5-day work weeks)
Reasons a staff person may request PTO include but are not limited to vacation, illness, personal reasons, camp recovery or bereavement. Please refer to the Paid Time Off Policy for more specific details.
Leaves of Absence
Leaves of Absence include but are not limited to personal leave, parental leave and sabbatical. Please see Staff Resources for more detailed information on Leaves of Absence. Please reach out to both your Supervisor and the Regional office to begin conversations regarding any Leave of Absence.
Time-Off for Part-Time Staff
Part-Time staff should use this form to communicate to their Direct Supervisors when they will be taking time off during their normally scheduled work hours.
Paid-Time Off (PTO) will be provided for reasons of illness or medical conditions, or to care for an immediate family member who is ill. Vacation is not considered Paid-Time Off (PTO) for Part-Time Staff.
